Stone angels
Anyone who has known me since my film-camera days will know about my obsession with stone angels. They fascinate me endlessly, I love their faces, covered over with lichen and moss and acid rain, their downcast eyes so reverentially watching over the graves of dead children. Somehow I find them comforting and solid and real. Today I spent the afternoon seeking out interesting angels at the Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh, NC. There are many civil war dead there, and some very old tombs. Here is an assortment of shots, all done with iPhone7 Plus, some with depth effect. Post proc was done with Noir, PhotoToaster, and Jazz.
