A day isn’t complete without some kind of journaling  sometimes, usually, I write for about a half hour when I first get up.  But my mind craves visual images, and I love to create, play with media, etc.

since I’ve started this major downsizing effort in my life, having an art studio with a slop sink, shelves of supplies, ventilation, etc is not a possibility.  Fortunately, I have discovered how to create paintings, journal pages, and photo collages with the iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil.  I can do a lot of what I was doing with art supplies, with the advantages of: no cleanup, an undo button, can do it anywhere, and I always have all my art journals with me.

This morning I created this background page, which I imported into Notability and wrote over with a white “pen”.  I can use the background again and create different text or just express something different.  

And then there is the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. Which is like having an art studio in my backpack wherever I go. Without having to do any cleanup. And an Undo button. So I’ll be posting a paining or two, now and then.

An obsession of mine for years, back in the days when I did film photography. But with he iPhone 7 plus’s fabulous pro quality camera I am compelled to push what I can do with a more spontaneous, less labored way of taking pictures.

This sad little broken-winged angel caught at something in my heart.  

Recently spent an afternoon at the Old Chapel Hill Cemetery to get some late-day shots of the beautiful stonework.  Since we were set up and working anyway, my husband took a little video of me working.

The stones, very old.  The flag, very new.  Also of note here: the husband outlived his wife by 50 years.

This one was so special it needs its own post.  The light behind the head was only partly planned, what I was most interested in was the necklace of shells the angel is wearing, as it bears its cross.
